Barry Schrock almost didn’t find his path. Struggling through college without direction, a professor saw something in him he couldn’t yet see in himself — a natural ability to coach, lead, and develop people. That moment of being found changed everything.

Barry spent the next fifteen years coaching basketball at every level — not just teaching the game, but unlocking potential in student athletes who didn’t yet know what they were capable of. He watched ordinary people do extraordinary things when someone believed in them and gave them the tools to perform.

From there, Barry took that same instinct into some pretty different worlds. Secondary and higher education. Economic development. Nonprofit leadership. E-commerce. Banking. The industries were different — the problem was always the same. People, teams, and organizations sitting on more talent than they’d ever found. Thirty-three years of doing that across that many different rooms has a way of sharpening you.

In 2016, Barry discovered Gallup CliftonStrengths — and something clicked. For the first time, he had language for what he’d been doing instinctively for decades. The assessment didn’t just describe his talents. It confirmed his calling. He became a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach not because it was a credential — but because he’d lived the transformation himself.
